Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories Facilities Supervisor in West Lafayette, Indiana

Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories (SEL) seeks a professional, innovative and detailed individual for our Facilities Supervisor position at our new West Lafayette, IN location. This position will assist our construction team in managing the construction of our new facility and then transition to operating and maintaining it. Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Plan, prioritize, assign, supervise and participate in the work of staff responsible for the cleaning, maintenance and repair of SEL facilities.

  2. Leveraging industry best practices establish schedules, methods, and inspections to guarantee safe and efficient delivery of services to SEL standards.

  3. Identify staffing and capital needs, collect data and provide justifications in support of rolling forecast budget and capital project preparation.

  4. Monitor employee performance, regularly provide employee feedback; empower, mentor and coach employees, write and deliver performance reviews, and assist employees in setting goals.

  5. Follow and continuously improve workplace safety, environmental practices, area processes, and waste reduction opportunities.

  6. Follow and apply SEL Values, Principles of Operations, and World Class Manufacturing Principles.

  7. Understand. Create. Simplify.

  8. Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

Demonstrated ability to model SEL values to others.

Proven track record of proactively sharing information in a genuine, professional, timely and supportive manner.

History of driving process improvement across multifunctional individual contributors.

Six (6) years of building maintenance experience and four (4) years of leadership experience.

Read, understand, follow, and enforce safety procedures.

Work various shifts, hours, and days depending on workload.

Possess a valid driver’s license.

Background check results satisfactory to SELNegative drug test result(s)

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience

Experience managing complex projects
