As the Industrial Electrician/PLC Programmer, you will work with the Location Maintenance Team to maintain the local Process control network, programming standards, and propose new equipment for the location. You will be challenged with duties and responsibilities that will evolve throughout the year. The Rushville facility runs a 24/7, then a 24/5 schedule during peak periods. Our 24/7 schedule runs on 12 hour shifts, with 36 total work hours one week, then 48 total work hours the following week. Our 24/5 schedule runs with three 8 hour shifts. Shift schedules for this role will vary and depend on demand. Required on-call work to ensure processes are running will apply to this role also.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Maintain integrity of the PLCautomation servers and PLC processors at location
Troubleshoot and modify ladderlogic programs on Allen Bradley processors using RSLogix 500 and 5000software
Understand the strategy for theProcess Control Network operating production locations and is accountable forthe implementation of the strategy at the locallevel
Lead and foster the safety culturewith team members, and drive maintenance and reliability of the process controlnetwork
Develop a strategy for PLCautomation support for the location which includes training ofoperators
Assist in the development,installation, inspection and maintenance of new or enhanced mechanical and/orelectrical equipment
Preventative maintenance conductedon field or facility equipment/machinery or vehicles
Estimate labor and equipment costs,maintain appropriate maintenance, inventory and repairlogs
May lead others in maintenance oroversee certain program, processes or projects
May be responsible for supporting mechanicalprojects throughout the plant
The following are required:
Two-year technical / vocational degree in Industrial Technology with PLC automation OR three years of related PLC Automation experience
Previous HMI graphical interface programming experience using Allen-Bradley FTVSE\FTVME and PanelBuilder32 Software
Previous experience programming PLC ladder logic
Previous electrical experience voltages ranging from 24v to 480v 3 phase
Willing and able to work in a variety of areas (field, plant, warehouse)
Willing and able to climb and/or work in elevated areas; standing and sitting for extended periods
Willing and able to work both outdoors and indoors in hot, cold, wet and dry conditions
Willing and able to lift up to 50 lbs. and complete work that involves repetitive motion and/or repetitive lifting
Willing and able to work overtime hours including weekend work and to be on call for operations
Valid driver’s license
Problem solving skills, conflict resolution skills, and teamwork skills
Good verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
Intermediate computer skills including Microsoft Office
Understanding/experience with Allen Bradley
Willing to complete additional training if necessary
The following are preferred:
Previous HMI programming experience primarily with Allen Bradley Factory Talk Studio
Previous experience programming ladder logic with Allen Bradley logix 500 and logix 5000
Knowledge of electrical panels and electrical troubleshooting
Advanced degree in related field
Ability to read blue prints
Ability to obtain professional certifications
Project management skills
