Principal Civil Engineer – Road Highway – Indianapolis, Indiana
Parsons Corporation has an immediate opening for a Principal Civil Roadway Highway Engineer . This role is for design engineering of various Indiana State and other regional road and highway projects.
The selected Engineer will have road and highway design and engineering experience with interstate roadway projects. Project design experience with various US State DOT standards and specifications is highly preferred
The selected Engineer must also have strong communication skills.
This hire may manage a subtask of a smaller project or study in accordance with contractual obligations.
Responsible for the technical excellence of the engineering functions of the project including coordination of technical disciplines and development of project alternatives, and preliminary and final design.
Design horizontal and vertical roadway alignments, and super elevation diagrams.
Perform quantity calculations project estimates.
Managing Associate Engineers in completing project deliverables.
Develop details to construction, detour, signing and marking, as well as erosion control drawings.
Coordinate with project team and interdisciplinary technical personnel.
Assists the project manager in completing the project deliverables.
Ensures project is adhering to client criteria and scope.
Assist in preparing technical reports and documentation of activity for the client and project management.
Assist in obtaining, analyzing, and circulating technical and contractual information to project disciplines.
May be responsible for the scope development, scope management and commercial performance of projects to meet project goals and objectives.
Assist functional managers to identify company resources, through liaison with support departments, other offices, or subsidiaries, to create project teams capable of completing effective, quality work.
Assists in identifying new project pursuits, gathers intelligence regarding these pursuits, participates in Parsons’ pursuit process, and may lead response to client requests for proposals/qualifications.
A 4-year degree in Civil Engineering (or related field) and 10-12 years of related work experience is required. Professional Engineer ( PE) is required.
Roadway Highway design experience. Geometric design is required. Project Report experience is also highly desirable. Microstation/Inroads/ Autocad experience is required.
