Job Description
Opening with our client for a Telecommunications Installation Technician.This role involves heavy travel (up to 85%) within IN, OH, and surrounding states to perform telecommunication installations.For this role, you will be working with a team for telecommunication installations and upgrades for correctional facilities and prisons.
Responsibilities
Design and install CAT6 and Fiber Infrastructures on small and large products
Establish cable pathways, install hanging hardware, and pull and terminate/testing of cables, troubleshoot as necessary
Assist with installing phones, stations, kiosks, tablets, and other products and equipment
Test equipment to ensure proper working condition.
Identify areas of concern and coordinate/execute prompt resolution and/or initiate escalations to resolve the issue.
Follow all instructions in order to complete the project on time and on budget.
Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED required; Industry Certificates preferred
2+ years of related telecommunications installation experience to include implementing conduits and pulling wire
Basic construction and/or basic carpentry skills
Basic understanding of BICSI standards
Ability read and understand electrical blueprints
Experience with basic cable and power tools
Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines
Strong communication skills
Ability and willingness to travel up 85% of the time.
Valid Driver’s License and a good, driving record. Position will require travel to-and-from project sites with the requirement to drive a vehicle/truck with a trailer.
Must be able to climb ladders, use an aerial lift, handling equipment, and lift up-to and over 50 pounds.
