The Global EHS Operations & Construction Specialist (Industrial Hygiene) will be responsible for managing day-to-day EHS compliance across the AES company.

Responsibilities:

  • Support activities and efforts around EHS-related incidents and investigations.

  • Technical resource and adviser on global EHS standards, policies and procedures.

  • Maintain and continually improve the EHS Management Systems (EMS and SMS).

  • Contribute to achieve EHS targets in support of business objectives.

  • Proactively improve the quality of EHS data reporting and analysis.

  • Manage all aspects of Industrial Hygiene program and compliance across global operations

  • Provide training for physical, chemical, and other hazards.

  • Support AES Online reporting, data validation and improvement.

  • Maintain safety data sheets (SDS) for the U.S. and its territories.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in EHS, Industrial Hygiene, Engineering, or science-related field, advanced degree preferred.

  • 3-5 years related experience in EHS compliance in a large industrial, processing, or manufacturing environment.

  • Experience in Power Delivery business (preferred).

  • Air Sampling & Instrumentation

  • Analytical Chemistry

  • Engineering Controls/Ventilation

  • Ergonomics

  • Health Risk Analysis & Hazard Communication

  • IH Program Management

  • Noise and Respiratory protection

  • Radiation – Ionizing and Non-ionizing

  • Thermal Stressors

  • Toxicology

  • Passion for Environmental Health and Safety

  • Excellent organizational, project, planning & time management skills.

  • Ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines.

  • Able to work supportively and collaboratively with other teams.

  • Ability to build effective relationships

  • Effective communication and organizational skills.

  • Demonstrated strong project management skills.

  • Experience communicating with regulators (OSHA and EPA).

  • CIH Preferred

Frequent travel may be required.
