DISH Field Tower Manager in Indianapolis, Indiana

The Field Tower Manager will be responsible for supervising the Tower Climber/Technician teams that are building DISH’s 5G network as well as servicing other customers within the wireless industry. The Field Tower Manager will oversee multiple Tower Technician crews that will travel to tower sites and perform work at both ground and tower top locations.
Primary responsibilities fall into the following categories:
Direct Management of Tower Climbers
Resource Management and Validation of Timekeeping
Site coordination
Scheduling with Landlords/NTP
Specialty access coordination
Specialty Equipment coordination (Lifts/Cranes)
Developing and Reviewing Rigging Plans
Fleet Maintenance
Field Technician Engagement – Arrange Travel, Perform Tools Checks and Safety Visits, Responsible daily for Work Completion, Quality of work, and Productivity.
Staffing, Onboarding, Training, Teaching, Coaching and Mentoring crews
Inventory management of crew equipment
Promote the coaching and development of tower technicians in the field, including providing recognition and Initial Level of Employee write-up
Act as safety observer and Quality Assurance representative while at the site, ensuring compliance with company safety program and related workmanship practices
Maintain proper use of company vehicles, credit cards, and other assigned assets
Up to 60-80% travel may be required
May work evenings and weekends as needed
Ensure that all jobs are maintained in a site tracking tool with complete accuracy
Develop new processes and procedures to streamline job site procedures and documentation
Read and understand construction drawings and other applicable diagrams
Successful Field Tower Managers have the following:
Current industry certifications (and willingness to recertify and maintain) including OSHA 30, OSHA 10, RF Safety Certificate, NWSA Certification, CPR/First Aid, AED, Advanced Rescue, and OSHA Competent Climber
3-5 years of experience working on communication towers up to 500 feet high
3-5 years of experience in the Wireless Telecommunications Tower industry with the capacity to understand and manage multiple projects, multiple customers and personnel
Ability to work at heights up to 500 feet high for prolonged lengths of time
Strong safety focus while performing work at heights or on the ground
Ability to respond in an “on-call” capacity to respond to network outages
Ability to lift 80 lbs. regularly and up to 125 lbs. as needed
Ability to pass a pre-employment screen (Drug, Background, Driving)
Meets the maximum weight requirements of 250 lbs. and maximum 60-inch waist size in order to safely use Personal Protective Equipment such as the required harness
Strong communications skills with a polished ability to communicate both formally and informally with multiple, distinct audiences, including internal teams, senior management, customers, contractors, and external resources.
Demonstrate knowledge of cell site design, foundation design, grounding, fencing and tower erection
Experience working with Microsoft Office & G Suite Products
Ability to work as a member of a team
Compensation: $55,800.00/Yr. - $76,900.00/Yr.
