The Role: The Commercial Project Manager coordinates the efforts of different team members involved in Aftermarket service package project. The Commercial Project Manager defines the project goal, creates the project plan, manages milestones, monitors and provides direction through the project (quoting, proposal, and contract), coordinates with finance, marketing and sales to prepare budgets, recommend cost effective methods and provide periodic progress reports. The Commercial Project Manager negotiates and manages design agreements, strategic subcontract agreements, major supply agreements and other teaming agreements required as part of the project plan’s activities. Ensuring compliance with established guidelines for risk management processes. Lead the deal team delegation of authority (DOA) process in coordination with the applicable commercial director, subject matter experts, approvers, and functional teams. Execute business objectives and facilitate short-term and long-term planning to contribute to the overall business strategy. Support in building a model to assess value proposition and profitability. Support in building alternative business model contracts such as optimize service offering by combining service solution to drive efficiency, reliability and modernization to our offering.
This position can be based and performed in any location in the United States, except Colorado
Essential Duties/Principal Responsibilities:
Plan, direct and supervise the execution of all business, technical, fiscal and administrative functions of the assigned project. Define project objectives and scope and set timelines to ensure customer needs and Xylem financial objectives are being met.
Set and manage project plan ensuring all applicable functional areas are engaged, including Sales, Operations, Finance, Legal, Contracts, etc.
Manage resource estimates, overall project timeline, project milestones, task dependencies and critical path.
Determine risks that may affect the project and create risk-mitigation strategies.
Create quality management plan, develop and maintain project documentation and oversee project design to ensure compliance with any Federal, State or local agency requirement.
Develop and implement systems to track deliverables and monitor and report on project progress, including significant milestones, and any conditions which would impact project cost or schedule.
Coordinate project activities with vendors and suppliers and maintain relationships with them.
Participation in Xylem Watermark volunteer activities
Minimum Qualifications: Education, Experience, Skills, Abilities, License/Certification:
Bachelor’s degree, or foreign degree equivalent, in Project Management, Business, Operations or related field or equivalent combination of education and work experience
Five (5) years of experience with multi-year contractual and transaction services business; experience within construction, industrial, municipal, mining or building services industries preferred
Three to five years of experience with markup and negotiating terms and conditions for customer contracts
Three to five years of experience with modeling and performing financial payback analysis
Advanced computer skills: Microsoft Office, CRM platforms, ERP systems, Project Management tools
Excellent project and time management skills with the ability to organize, prioritize and work independently managing many deadlines simultaneously
Highly motivated self-starter with strong customer service focus
Excellent organizational and time management skills
Demonstrated effective interpersonal skills for working with business partners, vendors and cross-functional project teams
Conflict resolution, facilitation and negotiation skills; capable of adapting approach as needed
Excellent verbal, written and presentation communication skills
Demonstrated analytical skills and creative problem solving skills to anticipate, identify and eliminate problems
Ability to look for opportunities to make continuous improvements in key processes, techniques and procedures
