CTG is seeking to fill aLead VLSI Circuit Design/Layout opening for our Fortune 100 technology client inWilliston, New York.

Project Location: Williston, NY (Remote Inititally due to Covid)

Project Duration: 12 months

Our client has a need for a capableLead with strong experience in VLSI circuit design and layout. This Project Leader will drive the design and development of a suite of yield-test vehicles for a complex upcoming test site, combining front-end VLSI fabrication at an advanced (FinFET) technology node in a commercial foundry with novel back-end processing.

Job Duties:

  • Consult with stakeholders (testsite architect, circuit designers, yield/test leaders, test personnel, semiconductor processing leaders) to develop a plan for delivering first-time-right yield-test vehicles in time for planned testsite design freeze, and then execute this plan to completion.

  • Oversee the design, verification, and documentation efforts for yield-test vehicles, involving multiple design and layout personnel situated across multiple time-zones, including direct participation in circuit design and/or layout activities where necessary and/or appropriate.

  • Report progress regularly to testsite architect and to project-leadership team, including timely indication of resource needs and roadblocks, and full design reviews where appropriate.

Requirements:

  • Extensive experience (at least 4 years) with circuit design, full-custom-layout and verification of VLSI circuitry in advanced (FinFET) nodes is mandatory. This includes experience with floor planning, power-grids, schematic and layout tools (Virtuoso), layout verification (DRC/LVS), layout extraction tools (StarRC), and circuit simulation and verification tools (Spectre/HSpice)

  • Experience in leading teams (at least 4 years) is greatly preferred, including assigning, monitoring, and (when necessary) re-assigning tasks among a diverse set of team-members, distributed across multiple time-zones

  • Selected candidate will interact extensively with a large project-leadership team distributed across the globe, through weekly updates, formal design reviews at key program milestones, and other briefings

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills are required, including the ability to communicate both progress and problems compactly (e.g., capable of either summarizing or presenting in full detail, as needed). Some local travel, to Albany and Yorktown in New York State, could potentially be requested – pending local conditions – but is not mandatory

  • Some experience (at least 2 years) in recognizing and pursuing patent disclosures of relevant Intellectual Property is preferred

  • Some experience (2 years or more) with analog non-volatile memory (RRAM, PCM) is desirable
