Work is in a climate controlled manufacturing facility with a friendly environment and a small company feel. This position comes with a retention plan with increases. 2nd shift comes with a 10% shift differentialiSchedules1st Shift: Monday - Friday 6:00 am - 4:30 pm with 5 hours on Saturday possible2nd Shift: Monday - Friday 4:30 pm - 3:00 amUses hand-welding equipment to join metal components or seams of fabricated aerospace parts to customer specification. Must have sufficient understanding of the functional operation of the items to make minor modifications if necessary. May perform some trouble-shooting and rework of production items. Must be able to work from complex and detailed blueprints and/or verbal and written instructions with minimal supervision.Responsibilities/Duties:TIG welding stainless steel and Inconel sheets 0.035 inch to 0.25 inch thick together to company specifications and customer expectations in a manner consistent with the company's quality and productivity standards.Uses hand tools, clamps, jigs and fixtures to aide in the production of a job. Brainstorms ideas for and creates tooling to do new set-ups on their own.Ability to select and identify the proper materials, including weld wire selection, needed to weld components.Prepares materials for welding; cuts, grinds and cleans metal. Utilizes fabrication skills to complete all phases of fabrication.Checks dimensional values efficiently and correctly using tools such as calipers, protractors, and gauges.Inspects all parts for proper assembly and cosmetic defects. Tags any non-conforming parts with re-work labels and places in re-work binAbility to work with ERP system to process parts through the systemCompletes tasks as directed by manufacturing schedules and within standard times.Maintains a clean workstation and cleans-up production areas as requiredDemonstrate a positive attitude, along with a willingness to do what needs to be done (without taking shortcuts), to move to other lines and departments to fill company needs, and to learn and improve own skills.Follows all safety guidelines and wears all Personal Protective Equipment.Performs all other tasks and duties as assigned by Group Leader or any other member of the leadership teamAll of these objectives must be carried out in a safe and appropriate manner while maintaining an acceptable level of quality and efficiency.Other Skills and RequirementsAbility to read and understand blue prints, plots, mylars, gauges, and work instructions and is current on understanding weld symbols.Demonstrates a strong customer focus along with a great work ethicDemonstrated knowledge of basic math, including working with decimals, and strong mechanical aptitudeShould be creative and be able to brainstorm and implement ideasMust be able to work required overtime that can be substantial during peak customer production periodsAble to perform detailed work with a strong attention to detail and quality.Demonstrate reliability and good attendance.Demonstrate ability to work and communicate with co-workers and leadershipMust complete, pass, and maintain certifications.Experience/EducationHigh School Diploma or GED requiredMust have TIG Welding experienceAerospace experience a plusPosition DemandsAble to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and sit for long periods of time on a daily basisAble to bend, twist, turn, carry, walk, sit, stoop, kneel, etcAble to successfully pass vision screensExtended hours required during peak workloads or special projects.Perform repetitious duties, such as hammering a part to specification.
