Serving three primary markets passenger vehicle, commercial truck, and off-highway equipment Dana provides the world's original-equipment manufacturers and the aftermarket with local product and service support through a network of nearly 100 engineering, manufacturing, and distribution facilities.YOUR KEY TO OPPORTUNITYPOSITION: Manager Environmental, Occupational Health, Safety and SecuritySUPERVISOR: Direct: Plant ManagerFunctional Direct: Sr. Manager EHSS, Light VehicleLOCATION: Fort Wayne, IN Job Content / Responsibilities: Health, Safety, and SecurityManage a local risk-based Environmental, Health, Safety and Security (EHSS) program in accordance with Danas corporate policies and procedures. Develop annual EHSS business plans identifying functional activities, training, machine guarding, ergonomic and other EHSS improvements needed with action plans and target implementation dates. Identify historical loss experience and statistical improvement goals for both short and long-term success. Integrate an EHSS culture within all operations and at all levels of shop floor and management teams. Work in close coordination with corporate Environmental Health, Safety and Security personnel to make certain that all necessary Health, Safety and Security protocols are implemented.Assure compliance with federal, state, and local safety regulations.Comply with all corporate EHSS reporting protocols including shared learnings.Develop, implement and obtain a registered safety management system in accordance with Danas corporate safety management policies and ISO 45001 criteria.Implement Dana corporate processes to help assure that proper EHSS provisions are incorporated into all jobs performed at the facility, employing techniques of risk assessment, hazard analysis, job safety risk analysis and safe job procedures as defined within Danas corporate safety management system.Develop and implement local incident and near miss investigation process. Make sure OSHA record keeping is being completed within the Dana global injury reporting system. Track first aid cases, recordable incidents, near misses and employee hours to determine injury trends and develop plans for improvement.Organize and conduct all necessary EHSS training as required legally and in accordance with Danas training matrix.Prepare an OSHA inspection and response program designed to train personnel on OSHA regulations and develop an OSHA response team should an OSHA inspector arrive at the facility in accordance to Danas corporate policies and procedures. Develop an OSHA inspection program to be used as a training tool for the safety team and conduct on-site mock OSHA inspections. Develop an operational checklist regarding all OSHA requirements for 29 CFR General Industry 1910 and all Subparts to help assure that the facility meets regulatory requirements e.g. Lock/Out Tag/Out, Fall protection, specific machine guarding requirements, industrial hygiene issues, material handling and the use of material handling equipment like chains/hoists and cranes, fire protection, powered work platforms and powered industrial equipment e.g. forklifts and other lift trucks, life safety, hazardous materials, PPE, electrical, welding, toxic and hazardous substances, record keeping and other risk based EHSS provisions as necessary to help assure a safe and healthy work environment;Establish a site safety committee. Safety committees should be trained on hazard analysis, regulatory compliance standards, machine guarding, ergonomics, accident investigation and other basic EHSS matters pertaining to the facility EHSS compliance and management (i.e., Lock/Out Tag/Out, etc.); Provide a means for facility personnel to report EHSS concerns and ensure effective follow-up.
