Consider joining the Duke Energy team, where you'll find a friendly work environment, opportunities for growth and development, recognition for your work, and competitive pay and benefits.Position Summary:The Reliability Engineering Technologist is responsible for owning and implementing assigned sections of the Mechanical Integrity (MI) program ifor the Edwardsport IGCC Generating Station, located near Edwardsport, Indiana. iThis position will have primary responsibility for implementing and managing the stationis MI program in accordance with the requirements of OSHA and EPA Process Safety Management requirements. iExperience with plant reliability programs and concepts, is preferred. iThis position will report to the Reliability Manager and is located at the Edwardsport IGCC Generating Station, near Edwardsport, Indiana.iResponsibilities:* Conducts routine testing of process equipment, including, but not limited to collection and analysis of equipment vibration data, thermography, lubrication, and flow characteristics.* Analyzes equipment failures and prepares reports regarding findings and cause of failures while identifying remedial actions, including revisions to the Maintenance strategy content and follows up on implementation of agreed actions.* Identify, facilitate, review and approval of inspection reports and corrective actions for plant equipment.* Provide technical assistance/troubleshooting in resolving design, operation and maintenance problems and contact internal and external experts as required.* Manage project consultants, equipment inspectors, and other contracted personnel that support the MI program.* Work within a team environment to provide engineering and project management support of plant equipment.i* Position requires strong technical and engineering skills with the ability to maintain a focus on plant production and reliability.* The successful candidate must possess the ability to work independently with minimal direct supervision.* Strives to continually improve job-related, technical and professional knowledge, skills and performance.* Successful candidate should model Environmental, Health, and Safety principles.iWorking Conditions:* Performs work in a power plant and an office environment; required to observe work in all areas of generating facilities which are power plant, industrial environments operating 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, iwhich includes exposures to hot and cold temperatures, noise, ash, slag, coal dust, fumes, confined spaces, and extreme heights, working around pressurized, rotating, and energized equipment.* May be required to climb ladders and stairs at various heights; enter vessels or equipment with limited access; walk, stoop, bend or squat.* Must be able to read, comprehend, inspect, calculate, count, retain and make sound decisions.* Regularly required to sit, talk, hear, use and reach with hands, arms and fingers.* Potential exposure to high stress situations and requirement to be available for emergency response upon request.* Base work hours are dayshift, 8 hours per day; 5 days per week, additional overtime will be required to support projects, plant outages and emergent problems.Basic/Required Qualifications:* Either 6+ years of relevant industry experience coupled with a Bachelor of Science in Engineering Technology (or equivalent), or 8+ years of experience and Associate Degree in Engineering Technology (or equivalent), or 12+ years equivalent experience without a degree.Desired Qualifications:* Demonstrated ability to perform process support and field troubleshooting of equipment.* Demonstrated experience with high energy piping.* Demonstrated ability and experience with large rotating equipment including but not limited to pumps, blowers, fans, and compressors* Demonstrated ability to
